Sky Puddle
2025, Resin, pigment
In Sky Puddles, Baeckelandt translates fleeting reflections of the sky on the water’s surface into a solidified, material form. What appears as a liquid puddle is in fact a frozen moment, in which cloud formations are suspended in epoxy and pigment. The work balances between illusion and materiality, questioning the relationship between the artificial and the natural. The suggestion of fluidity contrasts with the object’s physical stillness, subtly destabilizing perception and reality.
